Quality – QUIC

LSSiDATA’s Quality Update Identify & Change (QUIC) process for persistent data optimization utilizes a wide range of automation, innovative update processes, and external certification to deliver exceptionally (and possibly uniquely) fresh and accurate contact information. More than 14 years of experience has contributed to algorithms, tables, web-based tools, and automated telephony-based verification applied to ensure quality for hundreds of millions of residential, business, and government listings from many sources.

LSSiDATA developed QUIC to ensure that names, addresses, phone numbers, wireless numbers, and other contact information are as accurate as possible. The goal is to provide the highest quality contact detail for data solutions, directory assistance services, as well as other Reach & Response needs. List wholesalers rely on LSSiSDATA as a Tier 1 supplier of contact information, sourcing information directly from and for telecommunications carriers.

Data Normalization

A key QUIC component is data normalization. Contact information obtained from carriers, wireless opt-ins, VoIP providers, and other sources may arrive with inconsistent standardization. QUIC allows automated normalization of such data based on techniques that have been developed from more than a decade of experience. Examples of automated normalization include:

  • Abbreviations: PHNX = Phoenix
  • Names: Wm = William
  • Nicknames: James (also) = Jim
  • Context Sensitivity: ST = Saint, Street, State or S_T
  • Business Naming Conventions: WCMFFM = WCMF FM (radio station)
  • For TTS confirmation: Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers =Wendy’s
  • For Automation: NCAA = NC “double A”

QUIC also applies other techniques to enhance data quality, including:

  • De-duplication
  • Recognition of names without vowels (“Ng”)
  • Correction of misspellings
Dynamic Change

Contact information changes frequently as people move or change telephone service. To stay ahead, LSSiDATA has developed the web-based Data Discrepancy Report (DDR) tool to allow customers, carriers, and contact data suppliers to easily report these changes. DDR takes advantage of the carrier’s interest in ensuring contact information is as up to date as possible for directory assistance requirements. Customers benefit from exceptionally current contact information as a change of address notification for telephone service is an essential activity for the majority of New Movers.

LSSiDATA’s systems automatically update listings from DDR processes yet maintain old listings in a separate database. Previous listings are available for a variety of skip-tracing or other direct marketing efforts.

Automated Verification

As a wholly owned subsidiary of VoltDelta Resources, LLC, LSSiDATA’s directory assistance, call completion, and other services benefit from utilizing VoltDelta’s automated outbound calling with voice recognition capability called DeltaCast. DeltaCast permits verification of contact information based on elements of a name, address, or other data without requiring manual intervention. For example, DeltaCast has been used to verify fax and disconnected numbers.

Frequency of Updates

On a daily basis, LSSiDATA employs a combination of automated, web-based, and manual processes to update millions of records and to provide those updates to customers. A multi-site team contributes to the QUIC process to ensure contact information is accurate and up to date.
