FAQ’s
Why is LSSiDATA one of a very few enterprise-based vendors in North America that sources data directly from AND for telecommunication providers?
LSSiDATA has been a supplier of names, addresses, and phone numbers utilized by the directory assistance market for many years. The organization that ultimately became LSSiDATA was a pioneer in delivering automated directory assistance. These early efforts required vertical integration of name directories as well as telephony systems. Mutually beneficial systems and processes have evolved over decades. As a result, telecommunications carriers and other customers across North America rely on LSSiDATA to provide timely, accurate, and nationwide listings and other directory assistance services to support their operations. LSSiDATA is one of an extremely small group of Tier 1 providers of contact data that sources names, addresses, and phone numbers directly from North American telecommunications providers AND that makes the aggregated listings available to those same carriers and other customers.
What does “Tier 1” mean?
“Tier 1” is a categorization for vendors of contact information. LSSiDATA is categorized as a Tier 1 data supplier because of its direct relationships with telecommunications providers who are the original sources of the contact data. As a Tier 1 supplier, LSSiDATA offers this data to local exchange carriers, direct marketers, credit and collection entities, contact centers, telematics, wholesalers, list providers, and others. On the other hand, Tier 2 data providers tend to be larger wholesalers who resell contact information to smaller resellers and/or end users.
Why is contact data sourced from telecommunications providers so valuable?
Contact information is dynamic. According to US census data, more than 40 million people move annually. The greatest percentage of these movers are 18-34 year olds, the sweet-spot demographic for direct marketing. One of the first actions these new movers tend to take is notifying their phone company to update their contact information. As a result, contact information from telecommunications providers tends to be more up to date and provides the added bonus of pinpointing who those new movers are.
Does LSSiDATA obtain data from any sources other than telephone companies?
Yes. LSSiDATA obtains data from a wide range of sources, including telephone companies, CLECs, wireless carriers, cable companies, and VoIP providers. LSSiDATA also obtains data from many opt-in and other sources. LSSiDATA aggregates all of this contact data, applies quality standards, and updates it on a daily basis.
Does LSSiDATA supply only residential contact information?
No. Business and Government contact information is also available. Additional granularity includes home addresses with business telephone numbers.
In addition to being a Tier 1 supplier of data, does LSSiDATA offer any other services?

As a certificated local exchange carrier and wholly owned subsidiary of VoltDelta Resources, LLC, LSSiDATA works with VoltDelta to provide a multitude of services such as database marketing services, data processing, listing verification, mobile and online data solutions, directory assistance services, call completion services, and reseller and toll services. Does my current provider of contact data utilize LSSiDATA?

There is a good chance that your current provider of contacts is utilizing LSSiDATA due to LSSiDATA’s direct relationship with the sources of a range of contact data.
How long has LSSiDATA been in business?
In 2002, DataServ emerged from the directory assistance business unit of VoltDelta. In 2007, the independent supplier of contact information LSSi was acquired. These business entities merged to form LSSiDATA.
