LSSiDATA History

1972 marked the genesis of LSSiDATA's unique position as the only enterprise-based vendor of contact information sourced from and for telecommunication providers. In that year Volt Information Sciences established VoltDelta as an innovative pioneer in providing automated Directory Assistance Solutions for telephone companies.

Vertical integration was necessary, requiring VoltDelta to create high performance data repositories and robust processes to aggregate names, addresses and phone numbers from all telecommunication providers in North America. Call handling, operator workstations, and voice recognition were also created and implemented by VoltDelta to enable Carriers to maximize revenues from Directory Assistance.

VoltDelta continued to enhance its data resources over a period of decades to optimize the accuracy and freshness of contacts due the exceptionally stringent requirements of carriers to make every Directory Assistance request a revenue generating opportunity. Internal processes and database technology focused initially on tens of thousands and eventually millions of updates per day.

To expand presence beyond the telecommunications market, VoltDelta established DataServ in 2002 as a separate division. DataServ utilized the same robust database infrastructure to target enterprise customers, specifically resellers of contact information. DataServ also undertook an effort to add a wide range of wireless, VoIP, and other alternative sources of contact information.

DataServ's ability to identify residential and business movers exceptionally quickly and along with a range of historical contact information from alternative phone numbers worked to create a "tiered" industry structure. DataServ provided contact detail to larger data providers (Tier 2), who then provided value directly to end users or resold contact information to smaller (Tier 3) providers.

In 2007 VoltDelta acquired LSSi Corp., a provider of telephony-sourced databases of listings with expertise in managing high-volume daily updates to very large directory databases. VoltDelta then merged LSSi with DataServ to create LSSiDATA.

LSSiDATA today continues to serve enterprise and telecommunication markets in North America and throughout the world as a Tier 1 provider of data sourced from a wide variety of partners that offers customers a broad range of data and communication services.
